The National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO) will host a combined in-person event on June 12-14, 2024, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to address state energy security planning needs with a particular focus on risk assessment approaches and risk mitigation.

Risk Assessment Approaches and Risk Mitigation Strategies Cohorts Workshop
The Risk Assessment Approaches and Risk Mitigation Strategies Cohorts Workshop will be held on Wednesday, June 12, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for members of the Risk Assessment Approaches and Risk Mitigation Strategies Cohorts. These cohorts are part of the larger U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) cohort series, “Energy Security and Grid Resilience Cohorts” sponsored by DOE’s Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER) and the Grid Deployment Office in collaboration with NASEO, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL).

Energy Security Bootcamp
The Energy Security Bootcamp sponsored by CESER will begin at 8:00 am on Thursday, June 13 and adjourn at 12:00 pm on Friday, June 14, and will enhance state energy security planners’ and energy emergency responders’ ability to prepare for and respond to energy supply disruptions and emergencies. The bootcamp is also intended to facilitate intrastate and interstate coordination and planning for energy security.

The Risk Assessment Approaches and Risk Mitigation Strategies Cohorts are open to all state agencies involved in energy security planning (State and Territory Energy Offices, Emergency Management Agencies, Public Utility Commissions) but participants should register for the cohort meetings in advance of the workshop. If you would like to join the cohorts, please reach out to Blake Kinney (bkinney@naseo.org) and Sarah Trent (strent@naseo.org).
